UNS Signs MoU with Central Java Bawaslu

UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Java General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) on Saturday (23/9/2023). The MoU signing between UNS and Bawaslu Central Java took place in person at the UNS Tower Ballroom and virtually via live streaming on the ICDNR YouTube account.

The MoU signing was conducted by Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum., the Rector of UNS, and Muhammad Amin, S.Ap., M.H., the Chairperson of Bawaslu Central Java. The event was also attended by Dr. Sunny Ummul Firdaus, S.H., M.H., the Chair of ICDNR; Kukuh Tejomurti, S.H., LL.M., the ICDNR moderator; various speakers; and the Secretary-General of Bawaslu. The MoU signing signifies the collaboration between UNS and Bawaslu Central Java.

Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum., the Rector of UNS, stated that the MoU signing was part of the 3rd International Conference for Democracy and National Resilience 2023 (ICDNR) organized by the Center for Democracy and National Resilience Studies (Pusdemtanas) under the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) UNS. This collaboration aims to ensure the success of the 2024 general elections.

 “A successful democratic process is accompanied by proper mechanisms. Pusdemtanas LPPM UNS needs to prepare for the possibility of participating in the organization of the 2024 elections,” Prof. Jamal explained.

Furthermore, he emphasized that UNS’s cooperation with Bawaslu, both at the regional and national levels, is a joint commitment to the success of the 2024 elections. HUMAS UNS
