UNS Gives Awards to 54 New Doctors

UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta gave appreciation to new doctoral representatives in the university. It was recorded that there were 54 lecturers who had just received their new doctoral degrees after completing their doctoral studies. This appreciation was presented at the Open Session Academic Senate of the 47th Dies Natalis UNS on Saturday, (11/3/2023).

This event was held offline at the Auditorium G.P.H.. Haryo Mataram UNS and broadcasted live via YouTube Universitas Sebelas Maret. In the event, the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum., conveyed his appreciation to the new doctors. Prof. Jamal said that the 54 new doctors graduated from various universities. Six new doctorates graduated from foreign universities, while 48 others graduated from domestic universities.

On the other hand, this number will continue to increase considering that until now there are still 402 UNS lecturers who are pursuing their doctoral studies: 68 continuing studies abroad and 334 continuing studies within the country.

“We extend our highest congratulations and appreciation to the 54 educators or lecturers who have completed their doctoral studies and have obtained new doctoral degrees. I hope that the new doctors can balance their ideas, creations and innovations for the development of the university,” Prof. Jamal said.

Furthermore, these 54 people were also documented through the publication of a book entitled Profil Doktor Baru (New Doctoral Profiles). This is also a representation of the success of the UNS HR development program.

 “The most serious challenge in developing UNS is improving the quality of human resources. This is why the first pillar that I uphold in building UNS is the professionalism and welfare of human resources. UNS’s investment in lecturers and educational staff (tendik) is the most appropriate strategy to ensure our excellence in the future,” Prof. Jamal added.

Meanwhile, the Vice Rector for General Affairs and Human Resources, Prof. Dr. Bandi, M.Si., Ak., CA, CPA, CTA. said that with the publication of a book entitled Profil Doktor Baru (New Doctoral Profiles), we hope that it can become a reference for all parties along with UNS leaders in formulating a strategy to accelerate the development of UNS human resources, especially improving the quality of professionalism of educators who have a Strata (S-3) academic education level.

The 54 new doctors came from various faculties in UNS. Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) added two new doctorates. Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) added two new doctors. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) added 12 new doctors. Faculty of Law (FH) added ten new doctors. There are also two new doctorates from the Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB), five new doctorates from the Vocational School (SV), five new doctorates from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), two new doctorates from the Faculty of Engineering (FT), and four new doctorates from the Faculty of Sports (FKOR).
