About: Since its inception in 2017, the HiD Conference has convened experts and practicing clinicians in a one-of-a-kind scientific meeting to share knowledge and best practices for managing patients with diabetes and cardio-renal-metabolic disorders in a state-of-the-art clinical program. This unique forum has emerged as a major effort to help clinicians improve care for patients with diabetes, cardiovascular disease (CVD), chronic kidney disease (CKD), heart failure (HF), and related conditions. These disorders share many pathological features and often occur in the same individual, but until recently, they were treated as separate conditions. However, a wealth of evidence from recent trials has demonstrated cardiovascular benefits from agents that control blood glucose, lipids, blood pressure, and inflammation in people with diabetes, which supports a multi-specialty approach to patient care. Nevertheless, among practicing professionals, including experts, there is a gap in understanding the implications of these new developments on disease management. The HiD Conference will address this gap by examining the newest outcome data and providing clinicians with strategies for implementing this evidence base into everyday clinical practice.
